UTD NetBase Social Media competition

UT Dallas introduced NetBase, a social media listening platform into many of its courses in the Masters marketing program (and in the undergraduate marketing program next semester). NetBase is used in the core course Market Research and elective Brand Management. Four teams competed to determine –using only social media– what “white space” new product opportunity existed in the mobile app market. Teams identified sentiment, important devices, app categories and the most important attributes; then based on their findings proposed the next killer mobile app. The winning team received $2,000, 2nd place $1,000
