Professor Biswas interviewed by The Dallas Morning News on Dallas Cowboys & AT&T


Prof. Biswas who teaches graduate and undergraduate marketing courses at the University of Texas at Dallas, was recently interviewed by The Dallas Morning News with a front page story on the re-naming of the Dallas Cowboy football stadium. Prof. Biswas discussed the re-naming of the Dallas Cowboy Stadium to the AT&T Center, this naming decision straddles both branding and advertising, an area in which Prof. Biswas has extensive expertise.

    The drawback to these “second screen” revenues is that they often are looking for sponsors to offset the costs, but there are so many more strategies which the Cowboys (or any NFL team) can monetize long after the game experience. They range from intelligent ways to monetize their social media pages, creation of football-specific and sports-related intellectual property, e-mail marketing and more. They also have the opportunity to break into new options to go beyond just “entertainment” and venture into new “how to” information markets, all of which can boost the team’s valuation.
